Ike Looks Like it will pass Florida
Sun, 7 Sep 2008 10:11:38 -0400
It looks like Ike will slip by Florida. Good news for Florida but perhaps not so good news for the Gulf Coast.
Stormpulse Update
Sun, 7 Sep 2008 10:07:52 -0400
Thans to the great guys at Stormpulse we are now official and no longer "borrowing" Stormpulse from another site. That means we got rid of those pesky advertisements.
Small Blog Version
Fri, 5 Sep 2008 19:26:58 -0400
I have created a small version of my blog for the front page to accomidate making StormPulse come up automatically. You can still see the normal version by clicking on Scotts Blog in the menu, or by Selecting Scott's Blog at the top of the small blog window. I also moved some other things around on the main page.
Menu and Stormpulse Update
Fri, 5 Sep 2008 18:46:50 -0400
Stormpulse has been so popular that, at least while we have storms approaching, I have made it open automatically when you open the site. Because of this, you will currently have to click on "Scott's Blog" to read this...which you must have done.
Based on user comments, I have changed the menue to be automatically expanded and automatically collapse when you expand another section. Please let me know what you think.
Blog Presentation
Tue, 2 Sep 2008 18:23:26 -0400
I have updated the weather blog (what you are reading) to an ASP script to be more stable than the 3rd party java solution I was using. Thanks JP for your help with that.
Added Ike and Josephine
Tue, 2 Sep 2008 18:21:27 -0400
Well, we are obviously at the height of the hurricane season. I have updated the links for the two newest storms.
Added StormPulse
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 13:39:30 -0500
I have added the StormPulse Storm Tracker under Local Weather. This is an amazing tool for seeing what is going on in the tropics and the world with tropical storms and hurricanes. Make sure to check this out. Thanks to LDC.
Gustav Update
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 22:38:08 -0500
I have updated the site to track Gustav. Right now it does not look like it will hit florida, but it does look like it will hit the US somewhere and it might be bad. Active storms are organized a little better now.
Cameras Update
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 22:25:31 -0500
I will leave the cameras active for now.
Cameras Active
Tue, 19 Aug 2008 09:32:01 -0500
The house cameras are now active to monitor Fay.
Fay Update
Tue, 19 Aug 2008 08:28:01 -0500
We are getting some pretty heavy rain and gusty winds.
Updated for Fay
Sun, 17 Aug 2008 20:20:01 -0500
All links have been verified to work for Tropical Storm Fay.
House Weather Working Again
Tue, 28 Aug 2007 17:36:54 -0500
Finally I have taken the time to get the house weather reporting correctly again. All of the historical and current data is correct.
Weather Underground Back On
Tue, 28 Aug 2007 17:36:56 -0500
House weather sensors have been up for a while and updating Weather Underground. Weather info on this site not yet being updated.
Weather Underground
Sat, 1 Sep 2007 15:34:17 -0500
Because the house weather sensors are down, Weather Underground is not currently being updated.
Keeping Up With The Storms
Sat, 1 Sep 2007 15:32:28 -0500
I am doing my best to keep the site info current with whatever active storms are out there. I am on a cruise for a week so we will see what is possible. I should wind up following Felix under Cuba.
Antenna Cam Down
Sat, 1 Sep 2007 15:31:19 -0500
It appears as if the antenna cam has bit the dust. I have temporarily swapped the time-lapse over to Daisy cam. That should take effect 9/2.
Weather Info Temp Down
Sat, 1 Sep 2007 15:30:00 -0500
Because of the upcoming switch to a new weather monitoring computer, the weather @ house info is not currently up-to-date.
Now on WeatherUnderground.com
Mon, 9 Jul 2007 23:34:21 -0500
The weather data that I collect at my house for ScottArnold.net is now listed as a weather station on the Weather Underground.
Now Available - Weather @ House
Mon, 9 Jul 2007 20:40:42 -0500
The Weather @ Home section is actual weather data collected from sensors on my house.
Menu Fixed
Mon, 9 Jul 2007 20:39:55 -0500
I have replaced the menu on the left side of the page now. It should work for everyone. Please let me know if it does not work for you.
Bethany Beach Camera
Sun, 3 Jun 2007 17:11:03 -0500
Sometimes when choosing the Bethany Beach DE camera you may get a grapgic pointing you towards beach-net.com. It appears that their server just can't keep up with the traffic some times. It should eventually refresh and give you the camera shot you want. Sorry Barry.
No More Airport Camera
Sun, 3 Jun 2007 16:45:47 -0500
In trying to update the site, it seems that PBIA is no longer giving access to their web cam. I am assuming it is due to security. I guess I will have to find some other camera close by. Unfortionaltely nothing showed the status of the airport better than the airport's camera.
Update: Well, I found where the canera is supposed to be, but it does not seem to be functioning. I will leave the link up for a little while longer and we will see if it comes back.
2007 Hurricane Season Starts With an Barry
Sun, 3 Jun 2007 16:06:30 -0500
Well, hours into the 2007 hurricane season, Tropical storm Barry formed and was heading towards Florida. Although the bulk of this minor storm hit the Tampa Bay area, Palm Beach County (including us) received some much-needed rain. Our pond went from looking pretty dry to being almost 75% full in one day. Before the storm the drought conditions here were so bad that a portion of Lake Okeechobee's lake bed that is supposed to be under 6 feet of water caught on fire last week. They say Barry will not do much to help the overall drought conditions, but every little bit helps. Hopefully the remiander of the season will show us nothing worse than Barry.
Web Site Updates
Sun, 3 Jun 2007 16:13:32 -0500
You may notice that I am working on a new format for the web site. These postings are now in the form of an RSS feed in case you would like to read them in your RSS application. I am also trying to update the content and make it a little more consistant. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to provide more actual weather information as it happens at my house.
